Air filter elements are mainly used for air filtration in engineering locomotives, automobiles, agricultural locomotives, laboratories, sterile operation rooms, and various precision operation rooms. They are widely used in automobiles and are usually located in the intake system of the engine.
The engine needs to suck in a large amount of air during operation. If the air is not filtered, the suspended dust in the air will be sucked into the cylinder, which will accelerate the wear of the piston group and cylinder. Larger particles entering between the piston and cylinder can cause serious "cylinder pulling" phenomenon, which is particularly severe in dry and sandy working environments. The air filter is installed in front of the carburetor or intake pipe to filter out dust and sand particles in the air, ensuring sufficient and clean air enters the cylinder.

1. High-efficiency filtration
This is the core function of the air filter. High-quality filter elements can precisely intercept impurities such as dust, sand particles, pollen, carbon particles, etc. (with a particle size typically capable of filtering ≥ 0.3 μm), preventing these impurities from entering the engine combustion chamber or the interior of precision equipment, reducing wear on components such as cylinders, pistons, and valves, or preventing air pollution in laboratories / sterile rooms. For example, the commonly used paper dry-type air filter for cars has a filtration efficiency of over 99.5%, far exceeding the early oil-bath type filters (95%-96%).
2. Low intake resistance
The filter element needs to balance between "high-efficiency filtration" and "not hindering intake". In the design, methods such as "folded filter paper structure" (increasing the filtration area) and "low-resistance filter materials" (such as microporous filter paper, composite fibers) are used to ensure that the resistance is controlled within the acceptable range of the equipment (such as for car engines, the filter resistance should be ≤ 2 kPa) to avoid engine power reduction and increased fuel consumption due to insufficient intake, or affecting the air circulation efficiency of precision equipment.
